Whatever the size or shape of the product to be cut, there are two basic types of KMT water jet cutting system valves used in the waterjet cutting heads: Normally Open and Normally Closed. The Normally Closed valve stays closed (the stream is off) until air is applied to create a waterjet stream up to 60,000 psi. The Normally Open valve stays open (the stream is on) until air is applied. Both styles of waterjet valves are available for waterjet cutting and abrasive water jet cutting.
