Two Dimensional Cutting
Most popular application - 2 dimension cutting tables
The most popular application is the 2D cutting table. The cutting head moves in X-Y axes, according to the outputs given by the CNC Controller. In many cases the Z (height) axis is controllable, in order to adapt to non-flat or thicker materials because the cutting head needs to be very close to the material being cut. This type of system is best for rapid production of many different types of parts from different materials.
Important features include cutting speed (some machines move at up to 114 m per minute) and number of parts to be cut (some machines have multiple heads, often with the ability for “mirror” or reverse cutting). Machine sizes range from 1m x 1m tables to extremely large tables. There are also many options to consider, including whether to have a plasma cutter or saw attached to the table.
Applications
Metals, Composites, Gaskets, Ceramics, Stone, Glass and any material with consistent density
