Stroke Control -
Application of STREAMLINE™ High Pressure Pumps in a Network

This is a way to optimize production

For efficient utilization of as many STREAMLINE™ high pressure pumps as needed, in practice, pumping units are often linked together at the production site in a network. Central server controls reliable operation of a battery of pumps in a feedback manner. It results in costs decrease and improvement of availability.

  • Redundancy: in case of shut down of one pump, neighboring pump takes over its function.
  • Safeguarding operation mode: in a battery of pumps, each one pump works at possibly lowest load and each one works with the same efficiency. Optimized load makes the life of all components much longer.
  • Lower operational costs: thanks to uniform distribution of the load, each pump works very economically and helps in saving operational costs.
  • Increase of production abilities: some not applied production abilities of the pumps become available in a network, and therefore can be fully utilized.
  • Improvement of pressure properties: parameters of constant pressure essential for cutting quality become improved, because the pumps supply to the network in shifted phases manner.

  • Central control system for the network with server unit
Control of the network of pumps is carried out in a central manner by a server unit. It provides uniform load of all pumps in a battery. Main pump transmits a required pressure value to the server, next the server selects an appropriate control unit of subordinate pumps to the server. The server receives data from each pump concerning achieved piston stroke per minute. If non-uniform load appears, the server calculates again the total required piston stroke for the system and submits relevant signals to each pump. If a failure of a pump occurs, the server will calculate a new combined piston stroke per minute for other pumps on the required pressure basis.

    Technical requirements
    • Central server unit installed out of battery of pumps area
    • Each pump must be equipped with proportional hydraulic valve
    • The network must be equipped with an pressure sensor which can measure generated high pressure
